Chito's Gvino

Rkatsiteli-Mtsvane Qvevri 2023 is a natural Georgian amber wine crafted by the small artisan winery Chito’s Gvino, located in Georgia’s renowned Kakheti region. This vintage blends two iconic Georgian white grapes—Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane—in a wine that’s both elegant and expressive.

Following the ancient qvevri winemaking method, the wine was fermented and aged on skins, seeds, and stems in traditional clay vessels buried underground. The maceration lasted seven months, allowing the wine to develop structure, complexity, and its beautiful amber hue, without any additives or filtration.

The grapes are sourced from the family-owned vineyards of Vachnadziani village, an area prized for its sunny days, cool nights, and diverse microclimate. Chito’s Gvino follows low-intervention and organic practices, ensuring a wine that reflects the character of the land and the spirit of traditional Georgian winemaking.

Rkatsiteli-Mtsvane Qvevri 2023 invites a contemplative tasting experience. The nose opens with notes of fresh melon, apricot, and dried fruits, layered with soft herbal tones and a hint of autumn leaves. The palate is light-bodied yet structured, with gentle tannins that support rather than dominate. It finishes clean and slightly earthy, a quiet echo of its ancestral roots.
