Georgian Wine Meets Moravia

natural wine festival Brno 2025

Chito’s Gvino Featured at Natural Wine Fest Brno 2025

Brno, April 12, 2025 — Today, the heart of Moravia beats with the energy of one of the region’s most anticipated gatherings for wine lovers: the Natural Wine Fest Brno, hosted in the spectacular setting of St. Thomas’s Abbey at Mendel Square. Located at Mendlovo náměstí 157/1, this historic monastery in the center of Brno offers a uniquely beautiful and spiritual backdrop to an event dedicated to the purity, honesty, and diversity of natural wines.

Open from 12:00 to 19:00, the festival welcomes visitors into a world of low-intervention winemaking, where every bottle tells the story of its land, its grapes, and its people. This year, Geowine.online proudly represents Georgia with the participation of Chito’s Gvino, a certified organic winery from the renowned Kakheti region.

Founded by Nino Chitoshvili, a classically trained pianist turned winemaker, Chito’s Gvino produces natural wines in qvevri — large clay vessels buried underground- following an 8,000-year-old tradition that is still alive and thriving. The featured wine at the event, Rkatsiteli Kisi Qvevri 2023, is a stunning amber blend (60% Rkatsiteli, 40% Kisi), fermented on skins for six months and bottled unfiltered. The wine expresses the deep minerality, structure, and wild, aromatic complexity that define the best of Georgian natural winemaking.

At the stand, festival-goers can meet Sofia, Nino’s daughter and a talented young communicator based in Brno. She is supported by the Geowine team — Tania and Paolo, who manage operations and content for GeorgianWine.online. The team is offering a special discount code for attendees and engaging in conversations about qvevri techniques, sustainable viticulture, and the path to EU-certified organic wine from the Caucasus.

The Natural Wine Fest is not just a tasting — it’s a celebration of the European natural wine movement. And in the hallowed walls of St. Thomas’s Abbey, with spring light filtering through stained glass, the experience of wine becomes something even more: a journey through culture, ecology, and human connection.

Whether you are a sommelier, importer, curious local, or longtime lover of amber wines, Brno today offers a sip of Georgia’s soul — straight from the qvevri.
