Orkoli Ojaleshi Qvevri 2023 — A soulful red from Samegrelo’s lush hills
A vibrant red born from the Ojaleshi grape, one of Western Georgia’s most distinctive varieties. Grown in Salkhino village of the Samegrelo region, this wine captures the freshness of the Black Sea breeze and the authenticity of ancient winemaking.
Crafted by Orkoli Winery, the wine is fermented and aged in Qvevri, the traditional Georgian clay vessel buried underground. This ancestral technique allows slow maturation, preserving the grape’s natural character and purity. The result is an unfiltered, artisanal expression of Ojaleshi — elegant, lively, and full of energy.
On the nose, it reveals ripe berry fruits, black plum, blackberry, cherry, and blueberry tones. The palate offers fresh acidity balanced by soft tannins, leading to a clean, fruit-driven finish with subtle earthy notes.
A wine with both tradition and vibrancy — perfect for those who appreciate depth, authenticity, and a touch of wildness.
